"Twenty stood out from those original 4,000 submissions... exceptional stories that made me cry and laugh, and often, pause in total fascination." - Aaron Safronoff (Award Winning Author of Spire and Sunborn Rising, and Chair of NeoVerse Writing Competition)
Neoglyphic Entertainment is proud and excited to announce that Threads: A NeoVerse Anthology has been released and is now available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle. It has been an extraordinary experience to work with so many brilliant authors and present this collection of amazing stories!
It started as a question: What can we do to connect storytellers with readers in the digital age? It became the NeoVerse Short Story Writing Competition.
The call for entries began in November 2015, open to US and Canada. We thought we would be lucky to have 100 entries. When we closed December 20th we had over 4,000 submissions from over 2,500 authors. Entries were judged by a series of peer readers, publishing industry experts and proprietary technology based on advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning methodologies. It was a huge amount of reading and we found 20 stories, ones that readers connected to and were skillfully written. They span science-fiction, horror, historical fiction, and literary fiction, each its own storytelling experience.
Announcement of the Winners!
We wanted to present the winning pieces in a way that honored each one. A unique illustration accompanies each story, 20 works of original art designed to pique the reader’s imagination. We chose an art style to complement the wide variety of genres in the collection. Watercolor with a bokeh effect captures the thread of the story like the fragments of an unfinished picture, and our cover brings every illustration into one piece of art.
Threads: A NeoVerse Anthology - Volume 1 (cover art)
We chose to name the collection Threads: A NeoVerse Anthology. An author’s skill of weaving a story together and letting a reader follow the thread of a tale is one we respect and love. We hope we tied all the individual threads together into a beautiful tapestry.
